Sometimes going back is the only way to move forward. The 'prodigal son' when in sorrow, hunger, and anguish had to go back to move forward in life.
Naomi when hopeless, restless and in deep pain had to go back to move forward in life.
Sometimes it's not because you're not putting efforts in your work, studies or marriage but because you've drifted from God. When you've wandered far away and your strength it's failing God's "strength is made perfect in your weakness". A germinating plant when carried away by the wind to the surface of the ground has to go back into the soil to grow.
Don't be afraid to go back to the "old godly way". "Thus says the LORD: 'Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls'" (Jer. 6:16; 2 Cor. 12:9; Luke 15:18; Ruth 1:6). God loves you!
